I was so thrilled when I realized how clear and crisp everything sounds.
No Studying Required
Are you afraid you’re not going to pass a hearing test or that it may be painful or even embarrassing? Don’t be. A hearing test is just like an eye test or a blood test. It’s simple, painless and you can’t pass or fail.
The test is just a way for your Audiologist to assess your physical condition and nothing more.
Diagnostic Hearing Evaluations
When you arrive for your hearing exam, you will be greeted by our friendly staff and asked to fill out several forms, including those that record your personal information, medical history and verify your insurance.
As your hearing exam begins, your Audiologist will review your personal information with you and ask some questions that will help reveal the specific types of environments in which you may be experiencing hearing loss and hearing problems.
Next, your Audiologist may look into your ears with an otoscope. This instrument is used to see whether or not there is ear waxobstructing the ear canal or eardrum. Sometimes the Audiologist will use a video otoscope so that you can see inside your ear as well!
The results of your tests will be recorded on a form called an audiogram, which the Audiologist will review with you. The audiogram reflects your hearing loss in frequencies and decibels. You will be shown the type, pattern and degree of hearing loss, as well as the percentage of normal conversational speech that you are still able to hear.
Your Audiologist will then relate these results to your concerns about your hearing.
